Keith & Caron from Middlesbrough “Having been a keen DIYer for over 50 years I have installed many kitchens, from those costing a few hundred pounds to many thousands. From high street chains to very high end suppliers. So, when it came to replacing our 17-year-old MFI kitchen (remember them?) and fitting a good quality kitchen of our own, Caron and I set out to see what was on the market.
Again, we visited some high-street outlets and some very expensive and plush showrooms. Never finding exactly what we wanted, or a super kitchen that didnt come without a super ridiculous price. Then we were told about DIY kitchens, checked them out on line and liked what we saw.
A few weeks later on our way home from a holiday break in Wales, we called in at the showroom and were smitten. I was impressed with the quality build together with the free coffee and biscuits. Caron was impressed with the range, look and finish. We continued on our way home laden with ideas and sample colours. Once there, we set about designing our new kitchen.
The main kitchen area is a very long narrow galley with no windows but two sky lights, the utility room is at one end with a small window. Therefor our layout options were limited but the range on offer fulfilled all our requirements. On of Carons pet hates has always been dust on the top of the units and the hassle of keeping them clean, so she wanted the units to go all the way to the ceiling. We opted for the Luca gloss range in Cashmere, and with plan in pocket set off back to the showroom for a deciding visit. There the staff were very helpful and we left pretty certain of what we wanted. I played with the online planner (which will be great when its complete) which gave us a visual image of the planned kitchen as you go and even a totting up of cost as you go. Great for trying different options of layout and unit types.
We give our warmest thanks to the people at DIY Kitchens and we have no qualms in recommending them to anybody.
